Cynthia & Kevin

A Love Letter to Tradition

Set inside a classic Chinese banquet restaurant in Brooklyn, Park Asia. Cynthia & Kevin’s wedding explored how tradition can feel familiar and meaningful, while still fresh, personal, and full of life.

Respect for culture was always at the heart of the design, while leaving room to play, experiment, and bring in a more modern perspective. From a seating chart inspired by a traditional Chinese scroll to vibrant florals and custom-made details, familiar traditions were thoughtfully reimagined rather than replaced—with subtle nods to the couple’s Chinese and Vietnamese heritage along the way.

With the couple’s and their families’ priorities and budget in mind, I focused on a few elements that could make the biggest impact, taking a hands-on and resourceful approach to creating, adapting, and repurposing details throughout the space. The celebration felt familiar to those who grew up with these traditions, while still bringing moments of surprise, fun, and discovery for everyone in the room.
